I am not just a smeg snob!
A lot of people who know me would tell you that it seems I am a bit of a Smeg appliance snob. I can totally see how it comes across that way, but in fact, some of my favorite appliances have been cheap 8 dollar gadgets from Kmart, lol.
I do honestly have a lot of Smeg in my kitchen, but because I really love their products and rate them highly. Let's talk about a few of them and why I love them not just for their pretty colours. A list of a few I own.
Smeg Dishwasher
Smeg espresso machine
Smeg Toaster
Smeg Kettle
Smeg blender
The Smeg dish washer was actually a happy accident. When we went to look for a dishwasher, we wanted something that was going to be the best on water usage. The Smeg dishwasher really rated high on this with the fact that it heats its own water in the machine and was holding a 4 star rating for water usage. It was most welcomed into our home with open arms and happy face of no more washing and drying by hand, lol
My Smeg kettle and toaster where brought to be a set that would fit well in to my kitchen. I have a bit of a retro pastel vibe happening in my kitchen, so they complimented my theme well.
My beautiful pastel green espresso machine was my Christmas gift last year. I think, secretly, my better half was trying to tell me that my take out coffee daily was a bad habit, lol. But in all honesty, I struggled to learn. The coffee machine we already owned had so many different steps and setting, I just couldn't get it . I like simple and easy and that's just what the Smeg provided for me. A push of a button and little milk foaming and I have myself a take away coffee to inhale on the school run.
The Smeg blender is fabulous as well. I love that you can have a smoothie bottle attachment where you add all your ingredients, blend and drink. So little clean up, as it's all in one. Blend and go! Why wouldn’t you love that.
But here I am going on about Smeg and haven't even got to the good part, all the wonderful gadgets I have that aren't just Smeg. So lets go with my top 3.
Kmart 6 dollar pull chopper
Hand mixer
Kmart 10 dollar Stick mixer
The Kmart Pull chopper, if you don't have one and you have kids you should get one. It makes getting those vegetables into all your meal so simple. A few pulls and you have a nice fine chopped anything and your little ones will never know. It's also really handy when you don't like to dice onions, stops all those tears.
The Stick mixer and hand mixer are both fabulous. When you don't want get the blender out to mix your soup or blitz your sauce down, the stick mixer is for you. The hand mixer is quick and clean when you're doing a small cake mix and don't want want to get the stand mixer out, or even when you want to mash some potatoes. It's super quick and simple to clean.
I personally have so many more appliances I love to use, but I'll save those for another post. If you have any questions feel free to reach out.
Next week I'll have my early Christmas celebration blog up so stay tuned. Back to the Christmas Treat Cooking I go.
