Homemade Christmas gifts

The festive season, the silly season, the season where you can't work out if it's Wednesday or Sunday. The time we love on our loved ones and our livers pray we will take it easy on granny's Christmas punch, lol. But it's also the time we like to delight our closest with beautiful gifts.

I don't know about everyone else, but sometimes buying a gift for someone can be quite tricky and there's always this option of gift cards which is always handy, but me, I like to add that extra special factor and I like to delight my closest with either some homemade baked goods or something I have made for them to accompany something I have purchased. I personally know that I have a few family members that hold out all year for my famous rocky road. It's a once a year kind of treat and I know my waistline is thankful for that lol.

This year I did my famous rocky road and instead of the gingerbread cookies I have done in the past I made Christmas tree shortbread cookies. I did a few different tries on different shortbread dough, trying to limit the sugar. A few turned out like sand and one just wouldn't come together. So this year it's safe to say everyone got full sugar shortbread cookies, lol... I'll try again, I have few ideas up my sleeve so I'll keep playing around and get back to you all when I work it out. My rocky road is full of all sorts of wonderful goodies, it has that balance of soft, crunch and surprise. There is a video over on Instagram showing you a quick snip of how it is made. I bring the mixture together with a sugar free chocolate.

So I also got creative this year and gave a theme to my gifts. Almost everyone received a personalized drink bottle with their names on it. I created each sicker with my Cricut maker in a range of different permanent vinyl colours. There was rose gold, metallic aqua, matt black and just a few others. The bottles I used where also different. Some were just glass and others were metal. I'll attach some photos below.

While I was on my fancy creative train I decided to make some gift tags for my gifts. Now they had to be the right amount of me on these gift tags, funny but not over the top funny. Some of the sayings I put on them where,

  1. It was either this or socks

  2. shaking me will reveal nothing

  3. It's not a puppy, sorry

  4. Time to perfect your I love it face ( My favorite)

  5. This is exactly what you did not ask for

I'll attach a photo so you can see them. I used the Cricut maker to cut the design and I used Cricut design space to make them. They most definitely got a laugh by most.
